DDA Housing Scheme

The housing scheme is one of the most important schemes of Delhi Development Authority with the aim to provide homes to the needy, keeping in mind all sections of people who are residing in the national capital territory.

Few Facts need to Know: DDA started its journey of housing activities in 1967-1968, and, till date, it has launched 44 housing schemes with the allocation of millions of houses to more than 50% of the population of the capital. It has been constructing houses depending on the requirements and buying capacity of every class of people. DDA’s flats are fully furnished with the basic amenities such as electricity, water and sewage disposal, and other infrastructural facilities meeting the lifestyle standard of the capital dwellers. DDA houses/flats are spread in several parts of the city.

Worth mentioning here, DDA takes the opportunity of feeling proud by allocating most of its flats to the marginalised sections and also to the low income groups. So that, they can also boast of having a permanent shelter in the capital city.

Priority allotments for reserved categories

  • 25% for SC/ST persons

  • 1% for PWD

  • 1% for war widows

  • 1% for ex-service men.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. applicant must be citizen of India

  2. applicant must be 18 year old

  3. the applicant must not own any residential house or plot in full or in part, on lease hold/free hold basis in New Delhi, Delhi or Delhi Cantonment or in the name of his/ her wife/husband, minor dependent children. But, if he/she is the owner of a jointly owned plot or land, then he/she is eligible to own a plot.

  4. A person who already owns a flat/house provided by DDA or any other land/owing agency, even if it is not less than 66.9 sq.mt, then he/she is not eligible for allotment under any of the schemes.

Allotment of Flat

Allotment of flat is made through computerised draw of lots. List of eligible candidate is finalised and displayed on the notice board for any objection or grievance from the applicant.

Documents Necessary for possession

  • voter id/ passport/Adhaar card

  • Affidavit

  • Affidavit From Spouse (Husband/Wife)

  • Agreement for Sale

  • Possession Letter (4 Copies)

  • Specimen Signature and Photograph

  • Undertaking

Latest News on DDA Schemes

1) DDA will offer 20,000 flats with respect to its 2018 housing scheme in June across all income categories (i.e a mix of LIG, MIG & HIG flats). These flats will be located in areas such as Narela, Dwarka, Rohini, Vasant Kunj, Jasola among others. In June this year, DDA launched 12,000 flats, ranging from Rs 7 lakh to over Rs 1.26 crore.

2) The Delhi Development Authority have recieved nearly 41,000 applications for the housing scheme 2017. Till 7 September only 22,000 applicants were recorded and before the closing bells a total of 41,000 applicants under 4 different categories (HIG, MIG, LIG, Janta) were put down. DDA will soon compile all the data and get a detailed structure of the category wise distribution of all the applicants.

The 2017 Housing scheme will offer 12,000 flats ranging from ₹ 7 lakhs to over ₹ 1.26 Crore which are spread across Rohini, Dwarka, Narela, Vasant kunj, Jasola, Pitampura, Paschim vihar & Siraspur.

DDA is taking every measure to provide all the basic necessities to the household. Regarding the concern DDA have already discussed the issues with Delhi Jal Board who has committed to supply water in all the lacking areas. Also DMRC (Delhi Metro Rail Corporation) & DTC have come forward to provide better transport Infrastructure.

3) 22,000 applicants for DDA 2017 housing scheme has been recorded when just 4 days are left for the deadline. The response is not according to DDA’s expectation and they extended the deadline till September 11, 2017 which was 11 August 2017 earlier. Amongst these 22,000 applicants, DDA managed to receive 8,000 applications for 12,072 flats up for sale.

For LIG category, The registration fees is ₹ 1 lakh whereas for MIG HIG it is ₹ 2 lakh. The cost of the flats varies from ₹ 7.5 lakh to ₹ 1.44 Crore. In the last housing scheme offered by DDA the response was somewhat different, more than 5 lakh forms were printed in the first phase itself but the scenario seems changing this time.
