The Government is going to built 6 lakh two bedroom houses at a cost of ₹2.5 lakh each for the weaker sections of the society across the state. The government of Andhra Pradesh will spend around ₹16,000 crores for NTR Housing Scheme. Around 41,000 houses would be built in the district out of six lakh houses planned in the entire State under the scheme.

Unveiling the pylon for the construction of 10,000 houses at Jakkampudi, Mr. Naidu said six lakh double bed room houses would be constructed for houseless poor at a cost of ₹16,000 crore across the State. Two lakh houses would be constructed under NTR Rural Housing Scheme, two lakh houses under NTR Urban Housing Scheme, and 50,000 houses under other schemes. Besides as many as 1.50 lakh houses under NTR housing upgradation scheme would be repaired or renovated, he said. About ₹42,000 crore was released for houses during the ten-year Congress regime. However, only ₹ 12,000 crore was spent.
There were no evidences for 14.50 lakh houses constructed during the Congress tenure, he alleged. Social Welfare Minister Ravela Kishore Babu, Rural Development Minister Kimidi Mrinalini, Irrigation Minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao, BC Welfare Minister Kollu Ravindra, Vijayawada MP Kesineni Srinivas (Nani) and others were present.
